Employment Opportunities

Rainbow Day Nursery Inc. operates seven childcare facilities in the Southdale, Island Lakes and Sage Creek communities. Program size and centre locations are listed in the Locations tab in the top menu bar. We provide a play-based, emergent curriculum program in an environment that aligns with Circle of Security philosophies. 

Rainbow employs a variety of educators, supervisors and management staff in permanent, term and casual roles. All employees are classified as one of the following: 

Child Care Assistants - CCAs provide care for children in their program while supporting Early Childhood Educators in the implementation of daily curriculum. CCAs do not require post-secondary education specific to early childhood education, but must complete a 40-hour course within their first year of employment. 

Inclusion Facilitators - Inclusion Facilitators are CCAs who provide extra support in programs where children have additional support needs.

Early Childhood Educators - ECEs develop and implement emergent curriculum that supports the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of the children in their care. ECEs must complete an Early Childhood Education diploma or degree program for this classification.

Wages

Rainbow's wage scale begins at $17.04 for CCAs who have completed a 40-hour course related to early childhood education. ECE entry level wages start at $20.20. 

Pension & Benefits

All employees (including casual and term employees) are immediately eligible to join Rainbow's pension plan, which includes a 4% employer match of contributions.  Permanent employees also participate in a comprehensive health, dental and life insurance plan after three months of employment. 

Professional Development

Rainbow provides professional development opportunities to all staff four times each year on a variety of topics. Circle of Security training is available in-house to small groups, and permanent staff are also eligible for reimbursement up to $100 per year for other training workshops and conferences. Child Care Assistants may have the opportunity to enroll in Red River College’s Workplace Diploma Program in pursuit of their Early Childhood Educator designation, with access to an interest-free loan that is repaid by payroll deduction.
