Position: ECE II (Preschool)
Status: Full-time with benefits
Start Date: October 28, 2025
Location: Rainbow Day Nursery - Phase 3A (80-150 Lakewood Boulevard)
Rate of Pay: ECE II - $27.56+ (commensurate with experience)
Hours/Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Schedules may vary, and candidates must be available to work all shifts within centre operating hours (7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday).
General Description:
Working with a strong team including the program Supervisor, co-workers, Assistant Director, Circle of Security facilitator, specialists and families, the ECE II provides a safe, caring and educational environment for 32 preschool children aged 3 to 5 years old.
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, caring and educational environment
Plan and provide emergent, play-based curriculum
Provide additional support within the program to help co-regulate children with additional support needs
Observe and anticipate children’s triggers and offer tools to help regulate (e.g. deep breathing techniques, fidget gadgets, offering safe places, sensory exploration, etc.)
May participate in daily bus runs/school pick-up/drop-off
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Familiarity with emergent curriculum/play-based approach
Familiarity with Circle of Security philosophy an asset but not required
Ability to take initiative and think outside the box
Eligible candidates must obtain/provide:
CCA classification
First Aid/CPR
Current Criminal/Child Abuse Check
Center-provided Circle of Security training
40-hour child development course completed within the first year of employment
Commit to Kids training certificate of completion
Class 4 driver's license an asset but not required
