Position: Child Care Assistant / Inclusion Facilitator - School Age program

Status: Term position (1-year contract with possibility of renewal/extension)

Start Date: November 24, 2025

Location: Rainbow Day Nursery - Phase 3C (90-115 Vermillion Road)

Rate of Pay: $19.40 per hour for inclusion hours; regular hours are paid at $19.40 per hour with 40-hour training or $16.00 without 

Hours/Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:30-9:00 am AND 2:30-5:00 or 5:30pm (4-4.5 hours per day; split shift). Inservice days and school holidays will be 8 hours a day. Candidates must be available to work all shifts within centre operating hours (7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday). 

General Description: 

Working with a strong team including the program Supervisor, co-workers, family, Assistant Director, Circle of Security facilitator and other behavior specialists, the Child Care Assistant/Inclusion Facilitator will provide support to our School Age program. This program consists of 40 children aged 5 to 12 years old (Grades 1 to 6).

Specific Responsibilities: 

• Provide additional support within the program to help co-regulate children with additional support needs

• Ensure the safety and well being of all children at all times

• Implement and complete daily routines/transitions/various cleaning duties

• Provide compassionate attentive care to children

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes learning and development

• Communicate effectively with parents and co-workers

• Be a supportive team member who is able to collaborate and work with other team members to achieve program goals

• Transport children to and from school either walking or by daycare vehicle

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Familiarity with emergent curriculum/play-based approach

• Familiarity with Circle of Security philosophy an asset but not required

• Positive attitude, with lots of energy and creativity

• Ability to take initiative and think outside the box

• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently

• Eligible candidates must obtain/provide: 

  • CCA classification

  • First Aid/CPR

  • Current Criminal/Child Abuse Check

  • Commit to Kids Certificate

  • Centre-provided Circle of Security training

  • 40-hour child development course completed within the first year of employment
